Two arrested over €315k drugs seizure in Kildare

Men in their 40s and 50s are held over the seizure of 3.5kg of cocaine and around 10kg of cannabis resin.

TWO MEN have been arrested following the seizure of €315,000 worth of drugs near Kildare town last night.

The drugs were seized from a van travelling on the M7 at around 8pm last night.

Gardaí seized 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, and 10kg of cannabis resin.

Subject to analysis, Gardaí estimate that the drugs have a street value of around €315,000.

The two men, who Gardaí said were Irish nationals, were arrested at the scene and are being detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
