Two former taoisigh will not attend Higgins inauguration

Former taoisigh Bertie Ahern and Albert Reynolds will not be present at the inauguration of Michael D Higgins at Dublin Castle tomorrow.

TWO FORMER FIANNA Fáil taoisgh will not attend tomorrow’s presidential inauguration, which will see Michael D Higgins officially become the ninth president of Ireland.

Speaking on RTÉ’s Drivetime programme this evening, correspondent Fergal Keane revealed that neither Bertie Ahern nor Abert Reynolds would be in attendance at tomorrow’s event.

It is understood that Reynolds unwell, while Ahern will be out of the country.

Higgins will be inaugurated tomorrow at 12 noon in Dublin Castle.
