Two men die after cars collide on Monaghan road

Both men were declared dead at the scene of the crash in Carrickmacross.

TWO MEN HAVE died after the cars they were driving collided on a road in Monaghan this morning.

Gardaí in Carrickmacross said that crash happened on the N2 at around 11am today.

Both men – one in his late 50s and the other in his 60s – were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in either of the two cars involved.

The road is closed while a forensic examination is carried out.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact Carrickmacross Garda Station on 042 969 0190 or the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111.
