A WIND TURBINE has collapsed in Co Tyrone after locals reported hearing unusual noises coming from the structure.

The incident happened to a structure between Fintona and Fivemiletown on Friday night, as reported in the Ulster Herald.

It is thought the turbine was 80 metres in height. Its collapse was brought to the attention of the authorities by locals in the area.

No one was injured in the collapse of the structure.

The collapsed turbine is part of the Screggagh wind farm.

It was confirmed this morning that the incident is not being treated as a police matter.
