Poll: Should UFC fights be banned from Ireland?

One Senator has asked for the title fight not to be held in Dublin.

THERE HAVE BEEN calls this morning for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to be stopped from coming to Ireland to hold fights.

Fine Gael Senator Catherine Noone told The Herald* that she has written to the Minister for Sport “seeking his views on allowing this vile so-called sport to be given a platform”.

There have been suggestions from the top brass in the UFC of a potential title fight featuring Dublin’s own Conor McGregor being held in Croke Park.

Do you agree with her? Should UFC fights be banned from Ireland?

Poll Results:

No (11192)
Yes (1863)
I don't know (419)

*[Update]: Catherine Noone has backed down today, tweeting: “Hands up – jumped the gun re UFC/MMA – lots of offers of training/education which I’ll take up!”
