“Mechanical issue” forces UA flight to make Dublin emergency landing

The United Airlines flight was on its way to Washington from London Heathrow.

A FLIGHT FROM the UK to the USA had to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport this afternoon.

The United Airlines flight UA131 landed safely at 2.29pm

The aircraft had taken off from London earlier this afternoon with 153 passengers and a crew of nine on board.

According to a statement from the airline it was “diverted to Dublin Airport due to a mechanical issue”. The statement adds:

Our maintenance team is currently inspecting the aircraft.

The plane had been scheduled to land at Washington’s Dulles Airport this evening.
