A VIDEO TAKEN outside Copper Face Jacks nightclub in Dublin shows the extent of the crush among the large crowd outside the club last night.

The video, uploaded by a YouTube user called Kelly Redmond, shows the scene outside the Harcourt Street nightclub where seven people were injured as an estimated 1,500 queued outside.

The popular nightclub was running an event called Messy Monday which was aimed at over-18s. The nightclub is usually an over-21s venue.

Dublin Fire Brigade, ambulances and gardaí all attended the scene at the junction of Harcourt Street and Camden Place, a small lane adjacent to the street.

Four people had to be hospitalised for treatment after what witnesses described as a stampede outside the nightclub.

In a statement on its website, Copper Face Jacks said it was “working closely with all relevant authorities to establish the cause of this incident”.

“The safety and well being of our patrons is paramount at all times, and at present our major concern is for the people who were caught up in the incident and particularly those who were injured,” the statement says.
