PRESENTER VOGUE WILLIAMS has said she plans to take psychoactive drugs as part of a programme on addiction she’s working on, to be broadcast on RTÉ.

It’s planned the experiment will form part of the new series ‘Vogue Williams on the Edge’, she told the Sunday World.

“I’m terrified, it’s not something I’ve ever done before,” the presenter and model told the paper.

It was never my thing, but we are going to do it for the show as we are looking at addiction – my mother is going to be delighted I’m sure.

Williams has also been tweeting about the planned show today.

The Sunday World reports that she plans to take LSD or a similar substance, which will be obtained legally.

Experiments

Similar experiments have taken place on UK TV, most notably on the occasional Channel 4 series Drugs Live, which examined the effects of MDMA on the human brain back in 2012 and more recently looked at the effects of cannabis (see below).

Asked about plans for the programme an RTÉ spokesperson said:

The first series of ‘Vogue Does…’ on RTE2 was a huge success and was recently bought by TLC. A second series has been commissioned and is currently in pre-production, details of which are still being finalised.
