Gradaí renew appeal after man's body is found in Waterford

A post-mortem showed that he died from injuries sustained in a fall.

GARDAÍ HAVE MADE a fresh appeal for information after a man’s body was found in the back yard of a house on Francis Street in Waterford city yesterday afternoon.

The man was found by gardaí at around 2.30pm.

An ambulance was called, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area has been sealed off for forensic tests.

A post-mortem took place today at University Hospital Waterford, and showed that he died from injuries sustained in a fall.

He is not being named at this point.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was in the area of Francis Street over the past number of days and may have seen anything of assistance to the investigation team to contact them at 051- 305300, or via the the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or through any Garda Station.
