Waterford crime raids targeted documents rather than guns or drugs

No arrests were made during yesterday’s operation which involved up to 100 gardaí.

YESTERDAY’S DAWN SEARCHES across Waterford were part of a wider long-term investigation into criminal gangs in the region.

The Criminal Assets Bureau were involved in the operation and it is believed that documentation and other evendential material were recovered as part of the planned searches.

No arrests were been made made during the searches but investigating gardaí say that new lines of inquiry would have been established as a result of the evidence recovered.

Up to 100 gardaí across a number of units are took part in the searches which began in the early hours of Tuesday morning and continued for a number of hours.
