Grab your hats and scarves: It's going to feel cold and wintry this week

Because, you know, it’s winter.

IT WILL BE freezing tonight. Literally.

Met Éireann is forecasting that temperatures will drop to minus 2 as winter takes hold.

Tonight’s weather forecast predicts rain, cloud and frost, as winds whip across the north west.

All day, the rain has spread across Ireland, with the south and east set to be hit tonight.

And in case you’re thinking “at least it will be better tomorrow”:

Tomorrow will see icy patches on roads and showers with moderate winds.

Indeed, the entire week looks likely to deliver temperatures in the single digits, with ice, wind and rain.

So grab your hats and scarves, put on your warm gloves and start making excuses on why you can’t make those plans you signed up for weeks ago.
