Snow. Ice. Frost. Fog... It's still winter. And it's still hideous out there.

If you like a bit of wintry weather first thing in the morning… Well. you’re in luck.

YOU KNOW THE drill by now.

Gardaí are urging extra care on the roads, and a ‘yellow’ weather warning for snow and ice remains in effect until 10am.

It’s a veritable smorgasbord of wintry weather out there this morning: snow in Limerick, freezing fog in the northeast, and ice and frost pretty much everywhere.

It’s going to be cold all day too. According to Met Éireann:

It will become dry in most areas during the day, with sunny spells developing, but there will be some scattered showers along western and northern coastal and a few scattered showers along east coasts also, some wintry. Maximum temperatures 3 to 6 Celsius.

The very cold conditions will continue all week — but temperatures will rise by a few degrees at the weekend, according to the latest outlook.
