Weather warning for 14 counties as heavy rain set to batter the country this weekend

The weather warning will kick in from 3pm tomorrow afternoon.

FROM 3PM TOMORROW afternoon, a Status Yellow weather warning will be in place across the country, with heavy rain forecast by Met Éireann.

The rain will hit the west of Ireland first, before moving eastwards throughout the day.

There is a rainfall warning in place for 14 counties in Leinster, Munster and Connacht.

The counties affected are Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford.

Luckily for festival-goers at Electric Picnic, there is no weather warning in place for Laois at present, but it is precariously close to other counties affected by the warning.

The weather warning will stay in place overnight on Saturday, and expire at 6am Sunday morning.

Temperatures will hit the mid-teens tomorrow, and it will remain mild in the evening.

Sunday should be considerably better, with “hazy sunshine breaking through and highest temperatures a very mild 17 to 22 degrees”, Met Éireann said.
