Motorcyclist killed after collision with two cars

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

GARDAÍ IN WEXFORD are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a crash in the county.

The incident occurred on the N11 between Wexford Town and Enniscorthy yesterday evening shortly before 5pm.

A 46-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with two cars. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem is to be arranged.

Three other people involved in the collision, a man and woman, both mid 30s and a young boy were taken to Wexford General Hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported.

A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been appointed in the case.

The N11 was closed at Ballyhogue for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were travelling on the N11 near Ballyhogue, county Wexford between 4.30pm and 5pm yesterday evening are asked to contact them at Wexford Garda Station on 053 9165200, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
