Gardaí called to oversee repossession order at Wexford supermarket

It is believed the repossession began around 4am this morning.

GARDAÍ HAVE BEEN called to oversee a repossession order at a Wexford supermarket.

The Londis in Kilmuckridge had been subject to a repossession order last year, but the local community responded by reclaiming it when security staff had begun to remove stock.

Today, gardaí were in attendance as well as anti-eviction protesters as the supermarket’s stock was repossessed.

A source told TheJournal.ie that a large Garda presence was needed as there was a concern there would be a repeat of last year’s attempt.

That has led to cordoning off of the areas around the shop.

It is believed the repossession began around 4am this morning.
