Man (20) dies after his car collides with a tractor in Wicklow

The crash happened this morning just outside Aughrim.

A 20-YEAR-OLD man has died after the car he was driving collided with a tractor in Co. Wicklow this morning.

The crash happened at about 9.40 am about three miles outside Aughrim on the main road from the town to Carlow.

The deceased man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Loughlinstown Hospital.

The driver of tractor, a forty-year-old man, was taken to Naas General Hospital but his injuries are not though to be life threatening.

The R474 road where the accident took place is currently closed for garda investigators and witnesses are being asked to contact Wicklow garda station.
