Photos: No white Christmas but Ireland is still a winter wonderland

Last night temperatures plummeted to -7 Celsius. It’s cold, but it sure is pretty.

YOUR HANDS MAY have been blue with the cold and, yes, the roads were a bit of a mess, but you have to admit, the frosty mornings have been pretty beautiful too.

These photos taken by readers on the fresh, frosty mornings yesterday and today show the country is a veritable winter wonderland, though we did not have a white Christmas in most parts.

The snaps were taken in Newbridge in Kildare,  Emo Court in Laois Owenicha beach west Cork, Mangerton Mountain in Kerry and Scotstown in Monaghan.
