Woman arrested during Carlow town cannabis seizure

The fully grown cannabis plants had an estimated street value of approximately €250,000.

A WOMAN IN her mid 40s was arrested after a number of cannabis plants were seized during the search of a house in Carlow town yesterday.

Most of the plants were fully grown and found in the upstairs of the house. The drugs are believed to have an estimated street value of €250,000 pending analysis.

As part of a planned operation, the search was carried out by members of the Carlow drugs and detective units.

The woman is currently being detained at Carlow Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
