Woman arrested in connection with East Wall abduction

Ciarán Noonan was abducted on Russell Avenue in Dublin 3 in broad daylight on 20 October. His whereabouts are unknown.

A WOMAN IN her early twenties has been arrested in connection with the abduction of a 29-year-old man in the East Wall area of Dublin on 20 October.

Ciarán Noonan was assaulted and bundled into a car on Russell Avenue at 4.45pm on a Thursday afternoon. His whereabouts are still unknown.

The woman was arrested this morning in the city centre and is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Store Street Garda station. This is the second arrest in relation to the kidnapping. The woman in her mid twenties who was arrested last week was subsequently released without charge.

Gardaí have renewed appeals for information and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a black Volkswagen Golf (05-D-88805) on 20 October. The car was later found parked in an underground car park at the Killegland Apartment Complex in Ashbourne in Co. Meath at 8pm that evening.

Ciarán’s mother made an emotional appeal for her son’s safe return. Geraldine Noonan said her son was ‘easily led’ and that he may have fallen in with a bad crowd. She told Joe Duffy on RTÉ’s Liveline show earlier this week that she believed her son may have owed money to drug dealers.
