Woman arrested after flight makes emergency landing at Shannon

One passenger claimed she tried to ‘get out of the plane’.

A WOMAN WAS arrested last night at Shannon Airport after a flight was forced to make an emergency landing.

Passengers on the plane said the 41-year-old woman had become drunk and abusive, threatening staff.

One man claimed the woman attempted to ‘get out of the plane’.

The Jet2.com flight from Tenerife to Newcastle was diverted to Ireland and landed at the airport shortly after 10pm.

Gardaí said that a 41-year-old woman was arrested under the Air Transport and Navigation Act.

She was taken to Shannon Garda Station, and later released without charge. A file will be prepared for the DPP.
