Woman in her 50s killed in Clare crash

The woman was the only person in the car.

A WOMAN IN her 50s has died after a crash in Clare last night.

The car left the road and entered a field near Milltown Malbay at about 11pm.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to Limerick University Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

She was the only person in the car at the time.

The road at the scene is currently closed.

Forensic collision investigators will carry out an examination of the crash site today.
