Woman airlifted to hospital after Mayo car crash

The woman’s car collided with a truck on the N17.

A WOMAN HAS been seriously injured in a road crash in Mayo.

The collision occurred on the N17 at Claremorris at midday. Gardaí said the woman’s car collided with a truck.

She was the sole occupant of the car and was taken to Galway University Hospital by air ambulance. The truck driver was not injured in the collision.

The road is currently closed in both directions pending a forensic collision examination of the scene and diversions are in place.

Gardaí in Claremorris are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 094 9372080, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
