Woman dies in Clare house fire overnight

Gardaí say they are investigating the incident.

AN ELDERLY WOMAN was killed in a house fire in Co Clare overnight.

It happened at Firgrove, Bunratty in the Hurlers Cross area of Shannon.

The woman aged in her 70s was discovered at around 1 o’clock in the morning and was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was taken to University Hospital Limerick.

Gardaí say they are investigating the incident.

A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out tomorrow.
