Woman dies in two-car collision in Westmeath

The N4 at Bunbrosna is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

A WOMAN HAS died in a road traffic accident in Co Westmeath.

The two-car collision took place on the N4 at Bunbrosna, three miles west of Mullingar, at about 9.20am.

The woman was the driver and sole occupant of one of the cars. The male driver and female passenger of the second vehicle have both been taken to hospital.

The N4 at Bunbrosna is currently closed to facilitate garda forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Mullingar garda station on 044 938 4000 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
