Woman found dead in public pool

A woman’s body was found floating at a pool in Massachusetts – it is thought she was there for two days before being discovered.

POLICE IN FALL River, Massachusetts, have launched an investigation after the body of a 36-year-old woman was found floating in a public swimming pool.

7 News reports that the body of Marie Joseph was found in the Veterans Memorial Pool in the Lafayette Park area at 10pm on Tuesday night.

She was pronounced dead at a local hospital and authorities say she had not been seen by friends for two days.

Authorities are now trying to discover if Joseph was floating in the pool for that length of time.

The pool was said to be ‘murky’ during those days.

All of the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s 30 pools were closed following the incident in order for a full review of their safety and operational procedures to be undertaken.
