Woman in her 60s killed in road accident

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic accident.

A WOMAN IN her 60s died in a road traffic accident in Kilkenny yesterday.

The pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car at around 6pm at Green Street in Callan. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was not injured.

The road remains closed for a forensic examination this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was in the area of Green Street, Callan or who drove through the town at about 6pm is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 7775000.
