Woman killed and six people injured in crash in Galway

Six people – including three children – were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

A WOMAN IN her 70s has died and six people have been injured in a collision involving two cars in Galway this afternoon.

The woman was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with the second car at Two Mile Ditch on the Tuam Road at around 12 o’clock.

The driver and five occupants – including three children – in the second car were all taken to Galway University Hospital to be treated for their injuries, none of which are life-threatening.

Forensic investigators have carried out an examination of the scene.

Gardaí in Galway have appealed for any witnesses to contact Galway Garda station on 091 538 000.
