A 47-YEAR-OLD woman was shot as she tried to escape from two masked men who forced their way into her home.
She was shot in both her legs and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Her injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening at this stage.
Two other men were also in the house at the time of the attack. One of the men aged 40 also sustained minor injuries to his legs and chin after being assaulted at the scene.
It happened at Ballyronan Park, Newtownabbey at around 745pm yesterday evening.
Detective Inspector David Skelly said: “I appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to contact Detectives at Newtownabbey on the non-emergency number 101 or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
