Woman tied up by three men during Cork armed burglary

Three men wearing balaclavas and one armed with a rifle ransacked the woman’s home in Carrignavar last night.

A WOMAN IN her late 50s was tied up as three men, wearing balaclavas, gloves and one armed with a rifle, ransacked her home in Cork.

The incident happened at a house in Dromboy South, Carrignavar last night at around 9.30 pm.

A sum of cash was taken and the woman, the only occupant in the house, was uninjured but shaken.

Gardai in Glanmire are appealing to witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of Carrignavar between 9pm and midnight last night and saw any unusual or suspicious activity to contact them.
