Woman's body found on Co Clare beach

Gardaí treating death as suspicious.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the discovery of a woman’s body on a beach at Fanore, Co Clare, this morning.

The body has not been formally identified by the gardaí and they are treating the death as suspicious.

Gardaí said yesterday they were increasingly concerned about the safety of missing Clare woman Deirdre McCarthy, who was last seen on Sunday at her home in Ballyvaughan.

Her family had raised the alarm when she failed to turn up for work on Monday morning.
