Ireland's 4x400m women's relay team finish 4th in Olympic final

The quartet ran in the Olympic final in Stade de France tonight.

IRELAND’S WOMEN’S RELAY team finished fourth in tonight’s 4x400m women’s relay final.

The team of Sophie Becker, Phil Healy, Rhasidat Adeleke and Sharlene Mawdsley finished the race with a time of 3:19.90, a new national record.

Adeleke replaced Kelly McGrory, who ran in the team that finished second in the semi-final.

She said that it was an opportunity for her to “get some frustration out” and give it her all.
