Man dies in tragic accident at work yard in Galway

The man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

AN INVESTIGATION IS underway into the death of a man in his 50s in what’s believed to be a workplace accident in rural Galway.

Paramedics attended the yard in Corrandulla near Headford this afternoon and treated the man for his injuries but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí say they are treating it as a sudden death and an industrial incident. They will carry out their own inquires while the Health and Safety Authority will also investigate the death of the man.

The deceased’s remains were this eveing removed to University College Hospital in Galway where a post-mortem is expected to be carried out.
