The X Files is coming back for a tenth season WITH Mulder and Scully on board

The truth is in here.

FOX HAS CONFIRMED that a tenth season of The X Files has been confirmed, and that David Duchovy and Gillian Anderson are on board.

The much rumoured news has been confirmed today in a statement from original series creator Chris Carter, who will also produce the new season.

Buzzfeed reports that the “event series” will be six episodes long and will tell six individual stories.

In January it seemed that the only thing standing in the way of an X Files reboot were the logistics of being able to get both Anderson and Duchovny on board.

The series, which ran from 1993 to 2002 also spawned two films; one in 1998 and another in 2008.
