TWO MEN ARE due in court after Gardaí seized anti-anxiety drugs worth an estimated €500,000 during a search of a van in Wexford.

The drugs were discovered when Gardaí stopped a van on the N25 at Barntown on Friday afternoon and carried out a search.

A large number of Xanax tablets, which are used to treat anxiety disorders, were found in the van. Two men – one in his 50s and the other in his 20s – were arrested at the scene and detained at Wexford Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The two men are due to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court this evening charged in connection with the seizure.
