Young man dies in Leitrim car crash

Gardaí are investigating after a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene following a single car collision in Co Leitrim overnight. Another 21-year-old man received minor injuries.

A MAN HAS died following a fatal road crash in Leitrim in the early hours of this morning.

A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following a single vehicle crash at Corraneary, Aughavas in Co Leitrim at around 2.10am this morning, Gardaí say.

Another male occupant, 21, received minor injuries.

Gardaí say the road remains closed as a forensic examination gets underway and witnesses are asked to contact Carrick-On-Shannon Garda Station 071 965 0510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
