DOES YOUR HAIR colour determine how flexible you are?

That’s what Tara Matthews (16) set out to discover with her project on whether redheads are likely to be more hyper-mobile than others.

The Seamount College student from Galway brought her project to the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, and as a redhead herself – and hypermobile to boot – she had a very personal interest in its results.

Here’s what she found when she tested and compared the flexibility of redheads to people of other hair colours:
