Teenage boy dies after being struck by car in Finglas

The 16-year-old was seriously injured in the collision and died in hospital this morning.

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has died after being injured in a road collision in Finglas, Dublin, last night.

The teen was seriously injured when he was struck by a car close to the junction of Tolka Valley Road and St Helena’s Road at 11.30pm.

He was taken by ambulance to The Mater Hospital but was pronounced dead early this morning. The male driver and his passenger were unharmed.

The road was closed for a forensic collision examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision to contact them at Finglas Garda Station on 01 6667500, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any garda station.
