17 killed by gunmen at party in Mexico

Fears that women and children are among the victims of the latest mass shooting in Mexico.

SEVENTEEN PEOPLE have died following an ambush during a birthday party in the city of Torreon, Mexico.

The victims details have not yet been released but women and children are believed to be among the victims. At least 18 people were wounded.

Police found over 120 rounds of bullet casings at the scene, where gunman reportedly arrived and opened fire without a word.

Investigators have said they currently have no leads in the case.

The state of Coahuila state has been plagued by drug-related gang violence and has seen a spike in killings recently. Local authorities point to a feud between the Gulf cartel and its former enforcers, the Zetas.
