19-year-old woman killed in Cork car crash

Gardaí are investigating the collision involving two cars in Cobh at around 9pm last night.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a 19-year-old woman was killed in a road traffic collision involving two cars in Cork last night.

The woman, who was a driver of one of the cars, was fatally injured in the crash which happened at Fota Road in Cobh at around 9pm last night. Her body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination is due to take place later this morning.

The male driver of the other car was uninjured.

Fota Road has now reopened after an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to contact Cobh Garda station on 021-4908530, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
