24-year-old dies in single-car accident in Co Galway

The man’s car left the road and collided with a ditch shortly before midnight last night.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been killed after his car collided with a ditch in Co Galway.

The incident happened on the N83 at Derrymore, just north of Dunmore and about 25 miles north of Galway city, at 11:40pm last night.

The man was removed to University College Hospital in Galway but died from his injuries.

There were no other vehicles involved in the incident.

The road has been closed pending a forensic examination, and local traffic diversions are in place.
