Witnesses sought after 4×4 is hijacked at gunpoint

The black Range Rover was hijacked from Eadestown in Naas at about 6pm yesterday evening.

GARDAÍ IN NAAS have issued a public appeal for witnesses to an event in the outskirts of the town yesterday evening in which a 4×4 vehicle was hijacked at gunpoint.

The black Range Rover, with a 07-WW registration number, was hijacked from Eadestown at about 6pm yesterday (Wednesday) evening.

The vehicle is thought to have travelled northward towards Rathmore with three males.

The vehicle was later recovered at Abbeywood Court in Lucan, Co Dublin.

Prior to the hijacking, a red Volkswagen Golf – registration number 08-LS – was stolen from the GAA grounds in Durrow. Gardaí believe the hijackers used this car to travel to Eadestown.

They also believe the Golf was involved in a burglary at Graney West, Castledermot, Co Kildare between 5pm and 5:30pm yesterday.

Gardaí have asked anyone who witnessed the range rover travelling between Eadestown and Lucan, between 6pm and 6:30pm yesterday, to contact them.

They have also asked anyone who saw the red Golf in transit between 4pm and 6pm, or who has information about the burglary at Castledermot, to get in touch.

Gardaí in Naas can be contacted at 045 884300. Witnesses can also call the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
