The 5 at 5 5 minutes, 5 stories, 5 o’clock…

EVERY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you the five big news stories you need to know.

1. #GERRY ADAMS: Sinn Féin claim that a bomb warning was sent to their leader’s home in Belfast last night.

2. #BANKING INQUIRY: The CEO of Bank of Ireland Richie Boucher told the state inquiry into the banking crisis that his bank can repay Irish taxpayers “financially, but not morally”.

3. #MARRIAGE REF: Australian Comedian Adam Hills claims he knows the couple from the stock photo on many No Campaign posters, and that they are appalled to be associated with the campaign. Meanwhile, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin has confirmed that he will be voting no in the referendum on 22 May.

4. #ANDREAS LUBITZ: The pilot of the ill-fated Germanwings plane that crashed into the French Alps in March apparently practiced the slow descent he used to down the plane on an earlier flight.

5. #PRETTY SWISH: One of Dublin’s swankiest nightspots, the Dawson / Sam’s Bar on Dawson Street, has been placed on sale by private tender. The guide price is a cool €15 million however.
