1. #ABORTION: The Dáil has been debating the landmark abortion legislation for the past six hours as almost every TD gets to have their say on the Protection of Life during Pregnancy Bill. Lucinda Creighton’s contribution was watched with interest this morning while there were also statements from Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore and strong words from Alan Shatter.

2. #COST OF LIVING: The cost of living in the eurozone has risen in the last month according to new data from the European statistics agency, Eurostat. Inflation was running at 1.6 per cent last month in comparison to 1.4 per cent in May with food, alcohol and cigarettes having the highest rate of inflation.

3. #SEÁN DUNNE: Attempts to have the property developer Seán Dunne made bankrupt in Ireland have been adjourned at the High Court in Dublin today where Ulster Bank – which Dunne owes some €164 million to – requested an adjournment of the hearing. Parties to the case will come together again before Justice Elizabeth Dunne later this month.

4. #BROKEN GLASS: Police in the North are investigating what they say is the deliberate embedding of broken glass into a playground in Antrim. The incident was reported last week when shards of glass were found in the outdoor play area of Muckamore community centre.

5. #KOREA: Finally, our colleagues at the DailyEdge.ie having been finding out about Alana O’Brien, a 27-year-old Kildare native, who is representing Ireland in a major gameshow in South Korea.
