1. #TERROR ATTACK: The driver of the truck in the Nice terrorist attack last night has been named in local media reports as a man called Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel – a 31-year-old French-Tunisian. 84 people died in the attack.

2. #CRITICAL CONDITION: An Irish man is understood to be in critical condition following the attack. Taoiseach Enda Kenny said this morning that an Irish man was critically injured. The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it is “gravely concerned” for one Irish citizen.

3. #JO COX: In the UK, the funeral of murdered Labour MP Jo Cox has taken place. Prior to her funeral today, and in the aftermath of last night’s terror attack, her husband Brendan tweeted that “Jo would ask us not to fight hate with hate but draw together to drain the swamp that extremism breeds in”.

4. #DONEGAL: Gardaí have confirmed that they have begun digging a patch of land in Co Donegal in relation to the case of Mary Boyle. The six-year-old disappeared while visiting her grandparents in Ballyshannon on 18 March 1977.

5. #VEEP: And Donald Trump has confirmed Mike Pence, the governor of Indiana, as his choice for vice president – ending weeks of intense speculation.
