EVERY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you the five big news stories you need to know before you head out the door.

#PROBE: Tallaght Hospital has said it will investigate how information about an elderly patient was leaked to media. Earlier, the hospital apologised “unreservedly” after it was revealed that the 91-year-old man with Parkinson’s had spent 29 hours on a trolley.

#HOMELESSNESS: Campaigner Fr Peter McVerry has said Labour’s Alan Kelly is the “only minister who understands the homeless problem” as 200 additional emergency beds for Dublin are announced.

#RUCTIONS: Two TDs were thrown out of the Dáil this afternoon – one each from the government and opposition benches.

#EXPLOITATION: It’s emerged government ministers were made aware of concerns over the exploitation of fishermen over two years ago. A year-long investigation published in The Guardian on Monday alleged that undocumented workers often work on Irish vessels for days on end without any sleep or basic safety training.

#AND FINALLY: The Stephen’s Green Christmas market may be no more, but a smaller version may be on the way at the Clery’s shopfront later this month. The main market for Dublin this year will be at Custom House Quay. The dates and times for the turning on of the Christmas lights have also been announced today.
