Bright sparks: 6 statement lamps that will be the focal point of your space

Find a lamp that’s functional and stands out too.

THE RIGHT LAMP has the ability to set the tone and theme of a room instantly; for that reason, light fixtures are a home decor decision not to be taken lightly.

But the good news is you can make a statement in your space without opting for a large pendant – and without spending an absolute fortune.

This week, we’re looking at bold floor, table and wall-mounted lamps that do more than just shine the perfect glow. They could transform your whole space.

We’ve scoured Instagram to find lamp inspiration to light up any room in your home.

Shine on: A bright and airy room like @lenaterlutter’s calls for a statement lamp with a polished finish. Its long arm draws our attention to the centre of this lounge area and bounces sunlight around the room.

Feathered feature: On the other hand, @depot304 shows that you can indeed make a statement without choosing a huge piece that takes up half the room. This feathered lamp speaks volumes and will sit pretty in a smaller space or on a side table.

Plant power: For those with black fingers rather than a green thumb, welcoming indoor plants into your home just got a little easier. We love this brass life-size plant light, as seen on @grahamandgreen‘s feed.

Double duty: @francois_et_moi embraces standing lamp vibes without taking up any precious floor space. At first look, this wall-mounted and adjustable lamp appears to be standing free, but it’s actually a larger-than-usual wall light that’s an excellent alternative.

Three’s company: Grouping multiple wall-mounted lamps together creates a statement in this bathroom. Large sconces from @mullanlighting emit the perfect glow, thanks to their balloon-like bulbs that break up the wall of hexagonal tiles.

Bright and bold: Alternatively, you could go for a bold shade that’s a visual draw even when the light is turned off. @sueparkinsons sets this Matthew Williamson lamp against a neutral background of white and grey to make sure it really steals the limelight.
