2. #ALEPPO: The Syrian regime has launched a new assault on rebel-held eastern Aleppo after the United States and Russia failed to revive a floundering peace plan.

3. #STRIKE: Dublin commuters are facing transport chaos once again, as the latest bus strike begins today.

4. #CRAFT BEER: An investigation is underway after it was discovered that a number of low volume draughts were being sold in Irish pubs as craft beer.

5. #YAHOO HACK: RTÉ reports that the Data Protection Commissioner has asked Yahoo for information and clarification in relation to a data breach at the internet firm in 2014 that affected around 500 million users.  

6. #CLOSE FRONDS: Hillary Clinton has been showcasing her comedy skills (make of them what you will) alongside Zach Galifianakis on Between Two Ferns.

7. #BACK TO SCHOOL: Although school costs have been mounting up, one third of all secondary schools across Ireland don’t have a book rental scheme. The figures have come to light this week and led to calls for the scheme to be picked up by more schools.

8. #MOVING ON UP? Business group Ibec and Dublin Chamber of Commerce have called on Dublin city councillors to scrap a restriction on building heights in the capital.

9. #THE OUTLOOK: The weather for the weekend isn’t looking great. A rainfall warning has been issued for the West and South-west, for tonight.
