3. #ASYLUM A priest who was told not to visit a Direct Provision says he will visit it today anyway. He said this morning his problem is not with the centre, but with the system as a whole.

4. #SINKHOLE A large sinkhole has opened in a Castleisland estate in Co Kerry. The area has been cordoned off and a local councillor described it as a health and safety issue.

5. #CHAMPION Katie Taylor has been crowned World Boxing Champion for the fifth time – and the praise is pouring in from around the world.

6. #JOBSWATCH Danone is to create 50 jobs at a Wexford plant – while investing €26m in the facility. Meanwhile, 100 jobs are also on the way at TTM Healthcare in Clare.

7. #HOMELAND Israel has approved a law to make the country the national homeland of the Jewish people. It also introduced an initiative that would strip Arabs of their residency and welfare rights if they or their relatives take part in unrest.

8. #AUSTRALIA A mother has been charged with attempted murder after a newborn baby was found in a drain in western Sydney. The baby boy is in a serious but stable condition.

 9. #CROSS DRESS ROBBERY Gardaí are continuing to investigate a robbery in Rathgar, Dublin, in which a man dressed as a woman stole a large sum of cash from a businessman outside a bank. No arrests have been made.
