1. #CHARGED A man has been charged with the murder of Antrim woman Pauline Carmichael, whose body was found on the shore of Lough Neagh earlier this week. The man, aged 37, will appear in court this morning.

2. #ISLAMIC STATE The family of killed Islamic State hostage Steven Sotloff said they want to see IS executioner ‘Jihadi John’, who was named yesterday, brought to justice.

3. #GREECE The German parliament will vote today on a plan to extend financial aid to Greece. Anti-government demonstrations yesterday saw clashes between Greek police and protesters, the first such violence since Syriza came into power.

4. #IVF More than a thousand patients undergoing IVF treatment in Ireland have had their treatment suspended over fears about the new legislation on egg and sperm donations.

5. #VIRGINIA Men and women who were forcibly sterilised in the US state of Virginia are to be compensated following a legal battle. BBC reports that more than 8,000 Virginians were operated on between the 1920s and 1970s, and 11 survive.

6. #BANK OF IRELAND BOI made a profit of €921 million last year. It also lent €10 billion in 2014, an increase of 50% on 2013.

7. #FAST DELIVERY Expectant mother Stacy Heffernan gave birth to her baby Orlagh just minutes from the maternity hospital in Tralee. She told the Herald that her child is “absolutely perfect” despite her unusual delivery.

8. #KILLED A US blogger was hacked to death in Bangladesh, after allegedly receiving threats from Islamists. Demonstrators took to the streets chanting slogans like “we want justice”.

9. #CADBURY Unions want to meet with management at Mondelez Ireland, which owns Cadbury and Trident, over the recent announcement of job cuts, RTÉ reports.
