The 9 at 9 An awkward meeting between Cameron and EU leaders, a weather warning – and a massive party in Reykjavik.

EVERY MORNING TheJournal.ie brings you the stories you need to know as you wake up.

1. #BREXIT WOUNDS: Cameron’s off to Brussels today (awkward). Germany, France and Italy agreed last night that there could be no talks on Britain’s relations with the EU until after it has notified the union of its intention to leave by invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.

2. #WEATHER WARNING: A rainfall warning is in place across Wexford, Cork, Kerry and Waterford this morning. Local spot flooding is also expected.

3. #TURMOIL: In the UK, Labour MPs are set to vote on a motion of no confidence in Jeremy Corbyn. Another spokesperson, shadow justice minister Andy Slaughter, is the latest to quit his role, the BBC reports.

4. #HER MAJ: “I’m still alive”: The Queen had a pretty decent response yesterday (for the Queen, anyway) when Martin McGuinness asked her how she was – according to the Telegraph.

5. #MONEY WORRIES: Nine workers at the Central Bank of Ireland’s mint facility in Dublin have embarked on a work to rule – and have served notice of a full strike action for next month.

6. #BLUE WHALE: Rescue efforts are under way to save the life of a blue whale stuck in a fishing net off California.

7. #MEET THE MAYOR: Labour’s Brendan Carr has been elected lord mayor of Dublin. He said he would work to make the city “one of the best places in the world to live and work”.

8. #FLIGHTS CANCELLED: There are more flight disruptions this morning, as a result of the 12th French air traffic control strike in the last 13 weeks.

9. #NORTHERN UPROAR: They’ve been dancing in the streets in Reykjavik after Iceland’s stunning 2-1 win over England in the knockout stages of the Euros last night.
